ALL THE DETAILS
-
Pressure 1.3 – 1.7 ATA (start low)
Children’s Eustachian tubes and pressure sensitivity require a gentler gradient; this still delivers measurable oxygen benefit.
Time at Pressure 45–60 minutes Sufficient for cerebral oxygenation without overstimulation.
-
PROTOCOL PACKAGE
Introductory Phase
2 sessions/week for 2 weeks
Start at 1.3 ATA for 45 minutes; ensure easy equalization and comfort.
Core Phase
3 sessions/week for 4–6 weeks
Increase gradually to 1.5–1.7 ATA if tolerated.
MAINTENANCE MEMBERSHIP
Maintenance Phase
1 session/week or biweekly on an ongoing basis
Maintains benefits for attention, focus, and calm mood.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance Phase
1 – 2 sessions/week Ongoing
Maintain brain performance, stress resilience, and recovery during school year or sports season.
-
Hydrate with water or an electrolyte beverage.
Light snack 30–60 minutes before (avoid fasting or heavy meals).
Encourage ear-clearing practice: yawning, swallowing, or sipping water.
No caffeine or sugary drinks before session.
Bring a comfort object (small blanket, stuffed toy, or book).

Encourage normal breathing — no breath control needed.
Check periodically for ear or sinus comfort.
-
Hydrate again afterward.
Gentle activity (walk, play, or reading).
Avoid screen time for 30 minutes post-session if possible — promotes calm integration of oxygen effects.
Ideal follow-up: outdoor play or a nutritious snack to aid circulation and brain fuel.
-
Red Light Therapy (low dose) Before HBOT Enhances mitochondrial readiness for oxygen use.
Mindful breathing or guided relaxation During HBOT Reduces nervous system stress; enhances focus pathways.
Balanced nutrition (Omega-3, B vitamins) Daily Supports neurodevelopment and oxygen metabolism.
-
Skip session if the child has ear pain, congestion, or cold symptoms.
Never force equalization — comfort first.
Always monitor for signs of restlessness or anxiety; reduce pressure/time if needed.

Clients should start hyperbaric oxygen therapy with a protocol package for comprehensive initial treatment, then continue with a maintenance membership for ongoing support and benefits.
Individual outcomes from the therapy may vary. Each person’s response to treatment depends on a variety of factors including their unique health condition and overall wellness. While our experienced staff is committed to providing personalized support and guidance throughout the therapy process, we do not guarantee the cure of any medical condition.
Our goal is to assist clients in achieving relief from symptoms and to support overall healing and recovery. Clients should consult with their healthcare provider before beginning treatment and disclose any health concerns during their sessions.
By participating in hyperbaric oxygen therapy at ELEVATE SONOMA, clients acknowledge understanding of these terms.
If you're unsure where to begin, we suggest scheduling a free consultation with one of our team members in-person or virtually. This allows us to understand your needs and goals and tailor a protocol specifically for you.
