Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy FAQ’s

HBOT sessions at ELEVATE SONOMA offer a calm, comfortable experience. The chamber’s sound-absorbing, diamond-quilted interior reduces echoes for peace and quiet. You may feel gentle pressure as oxygen levels rise, like airplane ascent. Clients often find it soothing, enhancing mental clarity and well-being during and after therapy.
-
Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is generally considered safe when administered properly, but there are some potential risks and dangers to be aware of:
Barotrauma: Changes in pressure can cause discomfort or injury to the ears, sinuses, or lungs if equalization techniques are not used correctly.
Claustrophobia: Some individuals may experience anxiety or claustrophobia inside the chamber.
Underlying Health Conditions: People with certain conditions such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, seizures, or respiratory issues should consult a physician before HBOT.
At ELEVATE SONOMA Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, sessions are carefully monitored to minimize these risks and ensure a safe, comfortable experience.
-

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) promotes healing and recovery by increasing oxygen levels in the body’s tissues. While individual responses vary, common signs that HBOT is working include:
Enhanced energy and mental clarity
Reduced inflammation and swelling
Decreased pain and faster recovery from injuries
Improved sleep quality
Noticeable progress in wound healing or recovery from chronic conditions
Consistency with sessions is key for optimal results. Your body will gradually respond as oxygen supports natural repair processes. If you have any concerns during your treatment, our team at ELEVATE SONOMA is here to guide you.

You are invited to use your time in the chamber in whatever way feels best. Some choose to read, meditate, journal, or rest. We strongly encourage disconnecting from technology to fully embrace this time for rest and rejuvenation. Each machine is equipped with a smart TV for your enjoyment, should you prefer.
-
Even if you are healthy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) offers several potential benefits. By increasing oxygen levels in the body, HBOT can enhance your overall energy, mental clarity, and immune function. It supports faster recovery from everyday physical stress and minor injuries, promotes better sleep, and may improve athletic performance. Regular sessions can also aid in maintaining optimal brain health, reducing inflammation, and supporting skin rejuvenation. At HBOT Elevate in Sonoma, we tailor treatments to help you maximize your wellness and maintain peak health.
Red Light Therapy FAQ’s
-
Lying comfortably, you feel a gentle warmth from the red light covering the area. The light is soft, not too bright, making the space calm and relaxing. After a few minutes, your muscles relax and tension fades. It’s quiet and peaceful, helping your mind rest while your body soaks in the healing light. After fifteen minutes, you feel refreshed with a warm glow on your skin.
-
For best results with Red Light Therapy (RLT), it is generally recommended to use the treatment 3 to 5 times per week. Most users begin to notice improvements within 4 to 6 weeks of consistent sessions. The exact frequency and duration may vary depending on individual goals, the specific condition being treated, and your selected power output.
-
It is suggested to wear minimal clothing during RLT. This can mean undergarments or nothing at all.
For your comfort, ELEVATE SONOMA offers a private room for this therapy.
-
Red light therapy panels are advanced LED devices designed to deliver concentrated wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the skin and body. This non-invasive treatment stimulates cellular energy production, promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and enhancing overall wellness. These panels are used for various health and aesthetic benefits, including improved skin health, muscle recovery, and increased collagen production.
Red light therapy has gained immense popularity for its ability to support skin rejuvenation, pain relief, and even mental well-being. Whether used at home or in professional wellness centers, these panels offer a convenient and effective way to incorporate red light therapy into daily routines.
-
Red light therapy panels emit specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared (NIR) light, typically ranging from 630 nm to 850 nm. These wavelengths penetrate the skin and underlying tissues, stimulating mitochondria—the powerhouse of cells—to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the primary energy source for cellular functions, helping to accelerate healing, reduce oxidative stress, and enhance cellular repair.
-
Yes, eye protection is recommended when undergoing red light therapy (RLT). Although RLT uses low-level wavelengths of red and near-infrared light, direct exposure to the eyes can cause discomfort or potential retinal damage over time. Protective goggles specifically designed for light therapy are provided during sessions to ensure safety and prevent eye strain.
-
Skin Rejuvenation & Anti-Aging (630–660 nm) Best choice for skincare, especially when consistency is part of your routine.
Stimulates fibroblasts to boost collagen and elastin
Reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Improves skin tone, elasticity, and hydration
Acne and Inflammation (630 nm)
Targets inflammation-causing bacteria and helps balance oil production
Calms flare-ups in acne, rosacea, and eczema
Wound Healing & Scar Repair (660–850 nm)
660 nm enhances tissue regeneration at the skin’s surface
850 nm supports deeper structural healing, aiding scar remodeling
Muscle Recovery & Pain Relief (810–850 nm) Ideal for athletes or those with chronic joint pain.
Penetrates deeply into muscles and joints
Increases ATP in stressed tissues and reduces chronic inflammation
-
Red Light Therapy (RLT) is generally considered a safe, non-invasive treatment with minimal risks. It involves exposure to low-level wavelengths of red or near-infrared light, which penetrate the skin to promote healing and cellular regeneration. Unlike ultraviolet light, RLT does not cause skin damage or increase the risk of skin cancer.
Common side effects are rare but may include temporary redness, tightness, or irritation in sensitive individuals. It is important to follow the device usage guidelines and avoid overexposure. People with photosensitivity, certain medical conditions, or those who are pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before using RLT.
At ELEVATE SONOMA, we ensure all RLT sessions are conducted with professional-grade equipment, prioritizing client safety and comfort throughout the therapy process.
